This matters because learning Orthodoxy is not only collecting information. It is entering a life of worship, repentance, prayer, and pastoral care.
What to ask
You can ask for a catechism class, an inquirer meeting, a book or article to begin with, or a time to talk with Abouna. Keep the first conversation concrete: what you attended, what you noticed, and what you want to understand next.
If the priest is busy immediately after Liturgy, ask when a better time would be. Many priests are greeting people, blessing children, answering urgent questions, or preparing for another responsibility after the service.
A good next step
Return to the Liturgy, read about the faith, and ask questions in conversation rather than trying to learn everything alone. Orthodoxy is learned by worship, teaching, prayer, and life in the Church.
If you are serious about becoming Orthodox, ask plainly: “How do I begin catechism?” That question gives the conversation direction and lets the priest guide you according to the parish’s actual process.
